Sunshine for St Francis Credit Union at Ennis Chamber Golf Classic sponsored by Western Garages Volkswagen Clare

Sunshine reigned for the winning St Francis Credit Union Team at the Ennis Chamber Golf Classic sponsored by Western Garages Volkswagen Clare which took place on Friday, the 13th of May in Ennis Golf Club.  A very enjoyable day was had by all of the teams participating in the competition who were also treated to an impressive display of the range of vehicles available from Western Garages Volkswagen Clare.

President of Ennis Golf Club Tony welcomed Ennis Chamber saying they were delighted to have them back for 2016 and wished the business organisation well in its work for the town and county.  Ennis Chamber President Jean McCabe thanked all of the businesses who participated and in particular paid tribute to the main sponsors Western Garages for their involvement and effort on the day in keeping the golfers refreshed. Rita Mc Inerney, CEO of Ennis Chamber announced the winners along with their array of prizes.  As well as receiving the Perpetual Trophy, the 1st prize included a stay for 2 for each of the winning on the St Francis Credit Union team in any of the Treacy’s Hotels along with a 4-Ball Green Fees in Dromoland.  Second place went to Monitor Team who received 4-Ball Green Fees at Clare’s prestigious Lahinch Castle Course.  Gleeson Insurance finished third, winning a 4-ball in Woodstock Golf Club along with 4 gear bags sponsored by Guinness.  Vouchers for the new Flyshannon.ie sponsored by Shannon Airport went to Eamon Keane Accountants for their 4th place finish.  The Inn at Dromoland kindly provided lunch for 4 at Shannigan’s Gastro Pub which went to 5th place team Microsemi. 6th Prize was lunch for 4 by the Rowan Tree Cafe Car, Ennis which was presented to a team of former Clare Hurlers who finished in sixth place.  The final team to finish in the top prizes was the Auburn Lodge/Queen’s Hotel Team who received a drinks prize sponsored by Irish Distillers.  Gary Duggan of the Gleeson Insurance team received the prize for Longest Drive while Noel Crowe on the Bank of Ireland team won Nearest the Pin.
