Submission to Department of Finance (DoF) on Entrepreneurship and Taxation

In response to DoF consultation on entrepreneurship and taxation, Chambers Ireland has highlighted the need for reforming the tax system to encourage more entrepreneurs and appropriately award risk taking. Among our key recommendations were:

  • Equalising the tax treatment of entrepreneurs/owner-directors and PAYE workers, and reducing the marginal rate of tax
  • Introducing a tax credit on earned income for the self-employed
  • Allow entrepreneurs to avail of full welfare protection
  • Reducing Capital Gains Tax on active investments
  • Frontloading relief under the Employment and Investment Incentive

The full submission is available to read on Chambers Ireland’s website.
