PSA Licensing Requirement for Private Investigators
Chambers should be aware that the Private Security Authority has issued new regulations which require private investigators to obtain a licence from 01 November 2015.
The definition of investigators is, however, so broad that is currently also covers workplace investigators. Any Chambers which have HR consultants as members should notify members about these new rules. Chambers Ireland will be making a submission to the PSA suggesting that workplace investigators are exempted from being licensable.
