180 events were organised last year nationwide, it gathered thousands of Polish participants. In Ennis, Polish Irish Association, organised three events, over the course of two days we had about 500 people from co. Clare taking active participation.

Polish community in Clare is beings described as young and dynamic. It is about 3000 Poles in Clare. Most of us are working, investing (in education, business, properties) having children and being active citizens.

This year the Festival will take place from the 19th to the 22nd of May. Together with Clare Immigrant Support Centre, FAI, Clare Sport Partnership, County Council we – Polish Irish Association – would like to create an opportunity to involve international minorities in the Festival. There is a Movies Marathon night planned with favored movies from both Ireland and Poland on Thursday night. On Friday – Folk day with folk, music and cultural exchange evening filled with concerts, dancing workshops, storytelling, drama performing and crafts. Saturday is our Active Day for families and sport lovers and it will take place on the Fair Green. Soccer games run by FAI and Clare Sport Partnership, GAA training, volleyball and hockey tournaments. Activities with music such as Zumba, Bokwa. Yoga and Tai Chi teasers. We have a treat for cooking amateurs with ‘cooking together’ experience where we encourage to taste different foods from different regions and countries. We also have a picnic planned and we are inviting local craft makers, local businesses, motorbike group, etc. Sunday, last part of the festival is a ‘Discover Clare day’ with guided tours around Clare County.

In order to make that rewarding experience a reality we are reaching out to local businesses and people and offering the opportunity to help by becoming a sponsor.

PolskaEire Festival Committee Members would welcome the opportunity to meet with businesses to discuss ideas and any support you may be able to provide. They can be contacted on: newfacesofireland@gmail.com or by phone on 0831767131
