Open Invitation to attend ‘Ennis 2040 Economic and Spatial Strategy’ consultation

Earlier this year Clare County Council appointed a multi-disciplinary team led by economic consultants GVA Grimley Ltd., to develop ‘Ennis 2040 Economic and Spatial Strategy’.

A public consultation took place in early September and Clare County Council together with the consultant team will hold a second public consultation event on Saturday,  November 10th at 22-24 Abbey Street, Ennis between the hours of 10.00am to 3.00pm.

The resultant strategy will lay out a vision for Ennis, and assist in attracting inward investment to the county town. It will also include a marketing strategy for Ennis and its Environs for the next two decades and beyond.

The plan, due to be published next Spring, will earmark key sites for development.

The development of this strategy has received broad support. President of Ennis Chamber, Diarmuid McMahon who represents Ennis Chamber on the steering committee for the Ennis 2040 plan, says a long-term vision for developing economic opportunities is vital and he encourages chamber members to participate in the consultation process.
