“Know Your Town” Walking Tour For Members

Would you like to know more about the heritage and culture of Ennis? To have enough knowledge about the town to field any tricky questions from visitors?

If the answer is yes, then Ennis Chamber has the perfect solution.

We have teamed up with the fantastic local guide Jane O’Brien, of Ennis Walking Tours to offer our members the opportunity to take a guided tour at reduced rate.

4 tours are arranged to take place from Tuesday April 10th to Friday April 13th.  These fun and educational walks will be particularly suitable  for business owners and frontline staff. One hour in duration, they are scheduled to take place:

Tuesday April 10: 8:00am – 9am

Wednesday April 11: 8:00am – 9am

Thursday April 12: 6:15pm – 7:15pm

Friday April 13: 6:15pm – 7:15pm

Places are limited to 10 people per tour. Cost is €5 per person.

Ennis Walking Tour

As you walk through the narrow, medieval streets and network of laneways and bow-ways in Ennis, Jane will take you on a journey through time. She will recall the town’s colourful history, revealing the intriguing characters and stories that shaped its past. You’ll discover the rich history, mythology and legends of the town. Hear tales of murders and hangings, famine and poverty, rebellions and riots and discover how the most powerful men from Ireland’s past – amongst them Daniel O’Connell, Eamon de Valera and Charles Stewart Parnell were closely linked to the town.
