Irish Tourist Assistance Service (ITAS)

The Irish Tourist Assistance Service, ITAS, provides immediate support and assistance to visitors to the country who become victims of crime. The service is free and confidential.

Many can be left stranded without the means to support themselves and this adds enormously to their difficulties. ITAS provides a very comprehensive service – information to cancel credit/bank cards, arranging money transfers, liaising with embassies to issue emergency travel documents, contacting carriers to have travel plans re-scheduled. In emergency situations complimentary accommodation, meals and transport are provided to assist those in need of this support.

Last year 92% of tourists who received assistance from ITAS continued with their holiday plans. The office is open 7days a week and can be contacted on 1890 365 700 or at info@itas.ie; www.itas.ie
