Put simply, these are the awards you want to win if your business is based in County Clare.

Open to all business across ‘The Banner’ county, by winning a Clare Business Excellence Award you send out a clear message that your business is the best in your sector.

This year we have shaken things up with the introduction of a number of new categories:

Best Licensed Premises in Clare award is open to all licensed premises including bars, pubs and hotels.  Mystery guests will assess the premises, the service and interaction with the customer and the environment provided in terms of the target market.

Areas of consideration will include, the exterior and interior impact and décor, interaction with customers, products and services available, hygiene and cleanliness,  entertainment and where appropriate, security.

Best Place to Eat – Best Bistro or Café in Clare’ Based on feedback from last year’s awards we have divided Best Place to Eat into two categories with the introduction of: ‘Best Place to Eat – Best Bistro or Café in Clare’

We have also retained ‘Best Place to Eat – Best Restaurant in Clare’.

Both of these awards are judged by mystery diners who will visit each business to sample the unique customer experience and savour the quality of the food served. Each entrant to this category will be judged across all aspects of services and facilities with particular emphasis on the food offering.

Leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

This award recognises businesses that set the standard in terms of their responsibility to the local communities, environment, consumers, employees and/or other stakeholders in the public sphere with a view to celebrating the positive impact of business on the local communities in County Clare.

Judges will be looking for evidence on how the company embraces its responsibility to one or more of the following:
•       protecting  the environment against negative industrial impact
•       showing how employees at all levels of the company are encouraged to get involved with CSR activities
•       the positive impact that CSR activities have had on local communities

Best Voluntary/Community Group in Clare

This ‘FREE to Enter’ award is open to voluntary and community groups in Clare, who play a significant role in enhancing the quality of life within their communities. Because these are business awards, judges would like to see evidence of how the group applied sound business acumen to deliver great results.

The winning group will be awarded a trophy and a cash prize of €500

Nominations are invited from: sports clubs, youth groups, Tidy Towns committees, groups committed to caring for the elderly, the young, the vulnerable, those with special needs, and not forgetting voluntary groups who organise cultural events or festivals to benefit the local community and the local economy.

For all of the above categories and indeed for all categories
