This has been a tough week for many of the members of Ennis Chamber, public conversations and  media coverage proved frightening for owners of hospitality businesses, especially so for publicans and restaurant owners and retailers as the realisation that ‘re-opening day’ may be a long way off and when it comes they need to be ready with a new business model – a new normal.

While the expression ‘we are all in this together’ has become ubiquitous, the fact remains that in the world of business that phrase is far more nuanced, ‘we are all in together’ to a different degree.

On this basis, we are inviting our tourism, hospitality and retailer members to join us for a Zoom meeting next week, to discuss issues relevant to those sectors, for example to discuss and exchange ideas about how to stay in business and stay profitable over an extended period of social distancing. Our hope is that a gathering of peers, joined by a few creative thinkers, will help us tease out some fresh ideas and solutions and will fuel hope. Details of the meeting date and time will be posted on this website and we will also email individual invitations.

Meanwhile, I’d like to draw your attention to the launch of the third and latest Chambers Ireland Survey, as part of its rolling series of surveys seeking feedback on key issues affecting your business as the COVID-19 crisis evolves.  The short survey can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ChambersCovid-19

Stay safe and if you are feeling the strain, please get in touch, we will listen to you and support you in any way we can and at the very least we can ensure that you continue to network with your peers.

Until next week.
