March 2017

Due to our mild winter and lots of hard graft we are beginning to see all the fruits of our tireless work. At present we have an abundance of lettuce, broad beans, garlic, onions, cabbage growing. We recently started to grow sweet corn and mixed peppers.

Over the next six weeks our General operative staff here in the Ennis Chamber will be embarking on a horticultural workshop hosting by Mark Flahive from The Clare Local Development Company. We will concentrating over the coming months on our outside raised beds where we hope to grow Carrots Parsnips and Potatoes. We also hope to start planting strawberries raspberries and tomatoes. All this wouldn’t be possible without the help of our general operative staff guided by our Supervisors Michael Guerin and Craig Moloney. Also a huge thank you has to the Clare Local Development Company for their support and expertise.

Well done lads and keep up the good work. Follow our progress here and on Twitter @ennischamber.
