Clare Gift Card generates sales in excess of €125,000

PRESS RELEASE: January 15, 2021

Clare Gift Card  generates sales in excess of €125,000

Ennis Chamber is delighted to announce that Clare Gift Card, launched in November, attracted sales of €125,000 plus, in the run up to Christmas, proof positive of the outstanding support from the people of Clare who got behind local businesses for Christmas 2020.

“Ennis Chamber has a track history in the vouchers market, having previously sold Ennis Gold Gift Vouchers, but we realised during the first lockdown that we had to move away from a paper-based voucher scheme this year to offer a gift card solution that could be purchased locally but also online. As with many of our fellow chambers around Ireland we opted to outsource the delivery of Clare Gift Card to One4all who could ensure sales of the card through local post offices as well as online,“ said Margaret O’Brien, CEO, Ennis Chamber.

“We used local press, radio and social media to push the messaging and this was made possible through generous support from LEO Clare and Clare County Council, and we thank them for that support. “

With 70 businesses signed up to redeem the cards, those who received a Clare Gift Card will be spoilt for choice. No doubt after a long lockdown, partners from the retailer and hospitality sectors signed up countywide to accept the Clare Gift Card will be very pleased to welcome the extra revenue generated by the card when they re-open for business.

Allen Flynn, President Ennis Chamber said, “If you take the €125,000 generated in sales and apply the accepted economic multiplier effect, sales generated through Clare Gift Card this Christmas are worth €600,000 to the local Clare economy. It is a great achievement.”

The Clare Gift Card remains on sale both online through www.ennischamber.ie and through local Post Offices in Ennis, Ennistymon, Kilrush, Miltown Malbay and Lisdoonvarna.

Clare Gift Card is the perfect gift for all special occasions in 2021.
