On Thursday, November 18th, the winners of the Excellence in Local Government Awards 2021 were announced, and Clare County Council won the category, ‘Initiatives through the Municipal Districts’, winning out over fellow finalists Meath County Council and Monaghan County Council.

The Excellence in Local Government Awards awards showcase best practice in local government and recognise the skills, hard work, innovation and enthusiasm within local government that can often go unrecognised. The Excellence in Local Government Awards are hosted by Chambers Ireland and held in conjunction with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

President of Ennis Chamber, Darragh McAllister said, “We congratulate Clare County Council on this achievement. These are very competitive awards, with County Councils  across the country participating. We also congratulate Cork County Council on winning the overall County Council Award for 2021.
