Ennis Chamber creates and launches #BuyLocalFlyLocal campaign

Inspired by the launch of three exciting new routes from Shannon Airport to Vienna, Paris and Barcelona, Ennis Chamber has teamed up with Shannon Group to offer three short break holidays, one to each of those destinations, to be won over three successive weekends leading up to Christmas.

Simple campaign to support local

Ennis Chamber CEO, Margaret O’Brien said, “The idea for the campaign is simple, we are asking businesses and consumers in the region to support the local economy, to attract new business and to help ensure our towns survive. Obvious ways for people in Clare to do that are to use Shannon Airport and to support local businesses, especially in the run up to Christmas.”

Gwen Culligan, President Ennis Chamber added, “Research shows every €10 spent in Clare generates €24 of business to the local economy. It’s that straightforward. This is a great campaign with a simple, clear message that highlights the need to buy local and fly local.”

Traction

The campaign has gained great traction amongst businesses in Ennis, with almost forty businesses signed up in the first week, representing both the daytime and night time economy (i.e. a range of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars).

The draws will be video recorded and shared on social media.

How does it work?

Spend €30 or more on a single transaction in participating businesses (see list below) on the following dates, Saturday Dec. 07/ Sunday Dec. 08; Saturday Dec. 14 /Sunday Dec. 15; Saturday Dec. 21/Sunday Dec. 22 to enter a draw for a short break to include flights and €600 for accommodation for two, to one of the exciting new routes from Shannon Airport.

Once you make your purchase fill in the coupon at the till with your name and contact number to automatically be entered in the weekend draw.
