Ennis bids to become recognised as an age-friendly town
As we are well aware, we are living in a fast-aging society. We are also aware that the over 50’s command a sizable portion of our economy’s disposable income. Both factors are driving Ennis Chamber to enlist customer-facing businesses amongst its membership to participate in an upcoming Age Friendly training workshop.
On a national level Chambers Ireland is partnering Age Friendly Ireland in the roll out of training workshops and certification programme for businesses. Locally, LEO Clare and Clare County Council Age Friendly Officer, Karen Fennessy, are supporting Ennis Chamber in its efforts.
On Tuesday, February 23rd at 10am, Orlaith Carmody, who is responsible for the national Age-Friendly training programme for businesses, will give a one-hour workshop to businesses in Ennis, to mark the start of our journey.
We invite all customer-facing businesses to please participate. We need to get some momentum behind our effort.
If you or a member of your staff would like to participate in the forthcoming Age-Friendly training workshop, please register your interest at: info@ennischamber.ie We will reply with a zoom meeting link.
