Ennis Chamber Launches Suite of Initiatives for Christmas

#BuyLocalFlyLocal – Shop in Ennis for chance to win flights to Lapland and Paris

Launched in 2019, the #BuyLocalFlyLocal initiative created by Ennis Chamber and supported by The Shannon Airport Group continues this year, with the aim to promote footfall in Ennis in the run up to Christmas while also promoting the growing number of routes available from our local Shannon Airport.

Over the years this promotion has gained increased traction. Last year over 50 businesses were involved and this year will see an increase on that number by extending the promotion firmly into the town’s night-time economy.

To be run on December 6th and 7th, anyone who spends a minimum of €20 in participating businesses can enter a draw. Prizes are: flights for 2 to Lapland plus €400 spending money from Ennis Chamber and flights for 2 to Paris plus €400 spending money from Ennis Chamber.

Participating businesses are listed on Ennis Chamber website and posters with promotion details and a QR code linked to participant names, plus entry forms will be available in participating businesses this weekend

Barrier Up– Free Parking’ at Holy Family School

This weekend will see the launch of ‘Barrier Up– Free Parking’ at Holy Family School, Ennis.

Ennis Chamber has partnered with Clare County Council and the management of Holy Family Primary School, located in the heart of Ennis, to raise the barrier into this large town centre school carpark to provide free parking across these weekend and school holiday dates: December 6th & 7th, 13th & 14th, plus shopping days from December 20th to January 3rd (inclusive), when the school closes for Christmas holiday.

The car park is accessed from Station Road, at the O’Connell Street end, opposite the Cathedral.

Ennis Chamber is appealing to business owners to ask staff to park at Holy Family Car Park to free up car parking in the town centre for customers.

Return of the Artisan Christmas Market

Saturday December 13th sees the return of the Artisan Christmas Market, located in the Courtyard of Temple Gate Hotel.  With 12 stalls featuring the very best food, drink and crafts, all produced within 50km radius of Ennis. This initiative supports local artisan producers and ensures only high-quality local produce will be available at this market.  Open form 10am to 3pm, Saturday December 13th.

Ennis Chamber thanks our members Maeve Sheridan of Western Herd Brewing and Siobhain Landy of Sweet n Green, for leading out on the organisation of this event on behalf of Ennis Chamber.
