The Ennis Chamber Annual Golf Classic took place on Friday 15th of September at Woodstock Golf and Country Club. The day was a huge success, with over 20 teams taking part and despite the occasional shower, everyone quickly got into the swing of things as the friendly competition kicked off.

The results were as follows:

1st place with 96 points was Monitor team with Tom Dormer, Con Ryan, Michael O’Brien and Ollie McNamara

2nd place with 95 points was Treacy’s West County team with Patrick Treacy, Eugene Quinn, Seamus Kelly and Pat Lynch

3rd place with 92 points was St. Francis Credit Union team with Mark Coleman, Fergus Blake, Tim Hurley and Louis Fay.

Longest drive was won by John Skerritt Jnr who played with AIB team

Nearest to pin was won Kieran Browne who played with Ennis Vintners team

The prize-giving took place once all teams had returned for a fabulous 3-course dinner superbly organised by Elaine and Sean Lally of Hotel Woodstock. The prize-giving was officiated by William Cahir, President, and Tony Barrett, Treasurer of Ennis Chamber where the Perpetual Claret Jug was handed over to the Winner.

Title Sponsors Specsavers were thanked on the night as were the 25 tee sponsors. The level of support was greatly welcomed.

It was a great way to enhance vital team building and maintain strong working relationships. Business networking was also a must for businesses and the event was seen as a great way for this to happen and for businesses to obtain new contacts.
